Deafblind Worlds - Who was involved?

The project was a joint action between

Sense – the national Deafblind orgainsation.
Deaf Studies Trust.
The work was funded by a Big Lottery Grant.

The work was carried out between October 2004 and May 2007.

People

Susannah Barnett, from Sense was the lead researcher at Sense
Alison Bennett managed the Sense work
Liz Woodall was the administrator and organiser.
Andrea Taffurelli was the Deaf/Deafblind researcher at DST.
Monica Clarke also carried out some of the Deaf interviews.
Debbie Harvey was the organiser and local manager
Lucy Dunbar was initially the financial administrator but latterly took over the role of managing the data and carrying out the qualitative analysis.
Anne Stygall provided the support from the Deaf Studies Trust.
Professor Jim Kyle managed and supported the project.

Alys Young had a major role in advising on the data analysis.

There were 22 Deafblind and 38 Deaf people who took part in interviews.
